Before there was a company, there was a road. Every morning a young couple left home before sunrise and walked to work — more than five kilometres each way — because the bus fare was money they simply did not have.
They walked through rain and heat, past the buses they couldn't board, and arrived on time anyway. In the evenings they walked home together, talking about the life they were working toward.
Those daily walks taught them what would later define the business: that small steps, taken consistently, cover great distances. That you can't wait for circumstances to be perfect. And that the people around you — the ones walking beside you — matter most.
When they started their first business, the name was obvious. Walker's is a reminder of where we came from, and a commitment to the customers who are still walking that road today.
